Ordering Note: This gauge can be ordered with either the 12mm or a 14mm fitting, be sure to select the fitting you need at the bottom of this page.
The most common problem for most Saturday mechanics is the dreaded no-start troubleshooting. Just look through the forums and you will find them every week and they are followed with a calamity of suggestions for how to proceed "logically." Those suggestions are well intended but they take a lot of time and can even add to the problem rather than eliminating possibilities.
This fuel pressure gauge attaches in less than a minute and can immediately give a go/no-go reading to about half of the typical problem areas (fuel pump, DME, DME relay, fuel pump relay, fuel lines, speed/reference sensors). In some instances it can help with more complicated problems like engine stumbling, engine dieing (high fuel pressure) or power loss.
The gauge attaches to the fuel rail test port just like the original Porsche tool (P378 or VW1318). It has a hose length of 6". Note: this tool is equipped with the correct fitting to attach to the fuel rail (no sealing tape or o-rings).
Depending on your fitting selection, this gauge fits Porsche models that have either the 12x1.5mm or the 14X1.5mm test port. The 12mm applications include 911 (some), 924S, 944, 944S, 944Turbo, 928 (some) and others. The 14mm applications include 911 (some), 928 (some) and others.
Notes about applicability: Almost all pcars use the 12mm fitting but we know of at least a few (some of the 83 - 86 911s) that came with a 14mm test port. You must check your test port to be sure, a 12x1.5mm test port will have approximately a 12mm diameter. Similarly, a 14mm port will measure right at 14mm. (see photo below)

Neither of our gauges can be attached to CIS engines or engines where an angled adapter is needed (examples: 944S2 & 968) for connection.
